For me college is the opposite. I'm making contacts in the big world and learning about everything while avoiding all the crap I might learn by accident.

I'm rather antisocial at college. I disregard all their meetings and extracurricular clubs. I don't say much at class either.

I was like that. Mostly because I was resented with my pairs, I was shy, didn't have much money. They for the most part were wealthy and spoiled. I was ugly, etc. Eventually I left. For like a year before starting going to classes at some other place. Then I was already over it. Just came to class, did my thing, then left.

Somehow that suddenly was cool and everyone swarmed around me, and I became "popular" in class. I left again nonetheless, nobody understood why. Then I learned the secret of cool. :REESE Blood of newborns!

My advice is that if you're looking for change (where change does not equal bad. To see if this is like that ask yourself and if you think you'll find trouble, or you tell yourself you'll do, that is something one does for "protection") is to attend to the meetings and extracurricular clubs, couldn't hurt to see how's it like, unless its a club of hitting the new guy with baseball bats.
