Once upon a time

there was a loli

her name was Natsuko

Natsuko-chan lived in a small unknown village in japan
hidden away from civilization, this village survived on a system based on magical powers

computers or cellphones did not exist in this village
one day Natsuko-chan was out taking a stroll through the woods when she suddenly saw some strange light

being the youngest in her family, she had yet to develop any magical powers, and therefore had no means of protecting herself against any dangers

yet this girl displayed no fear, and instead out of pure curiosity headed towards the light upon getting close to the light, Natsuko-chan smelled something she had never smelled before. it was a strong smell that made her feel sick

ignoring the stench, she continued forward until she reached the source of the light

it was a large figure lying on the ground, with a small object that seemed to give off the light that attracted the girl upon closer inspection she finally realized what it was

it was a fat sleeping man with neckbeard

his face was covered in maggots, and his eyes were slightly open. his clothes were stained with brown color and flies were everywhere in his hand, the weird object was vibrating and giving off buzzing sound

"ojisan. you shouldn't lie here. It gets cold during the night!" Natsuko-chan said but she were completely ignored

"can I see that thing you're holding?" she asked, taking it from his cold hand

the object had a small window that showed the text "mom is calling"

accidentally pushing something, the object gave off a beeping sound, followed by a worried voice "Hello? Are you there? Where are you right now? I'm so worried!" the object said

Natsuko-chan laughed and said "waahhh, it can talk! Hello, I'm Natsuko!"

The object was silent for a moment and then said "Natsuko? Are you with my son Soutarou?"

Natsuko responded "I'm with ojisan. He is sleeping right here. He must be very tired because he doesn't want to get up" The object was silent yet again, followed by a faint mumble "...why is he with a little girl..."

The object coughed and said "Um, when soutarou wakes up, could you tell him to call me? I've been calling for days and he hasn't responded."

"Okay, I will." Natsuko-chan said

the object went silent

Natsuko-chan sat down next to the person

She waited and waited for the man to wake up
so that she could tell him to talk to the object she was holding
but soon it turned dark
Natsuko-chan was getting scared and the smell was getting to her.
"You sure stink, ojisan." she said, but there was no response.
she played around with the object for a while before finally standing up

"I have to go home, ojisan. I will come back tomorrow. ok?" she said, and put down the object next to him.

she then ran home.

The next day she came back and the person was standing there, waiting for her with a smile.

"Ojisan. you woke up!" she said with a gasp
"Thank you for watching me yesterday. I feel much better"
He stretched, then kneeled down to her level and asked. "Could you tell me where we are?"

She told him about her home, her village, and what she was doing in these woods to begin with.

"Searching for your power?" He said. "Do all little girls in your village have these powers?"

"Not all. I still don't have any powers." Natsuko-chan said.

They spent the day talking to each other about the magical powers of natsuko's friends, about life in the village, and what powers they would like.

It soon turned dark once again, and natsuko had to go home.

This time, the person gave natsuko-chan his strange object she had taken a liking to before she left

he said to her "if it starts shaking, you press this green button."

"When the voice asks about me, tell her that I'm fine, but I wont be coming home for a while. After that, you can do whatever you want with it."

he also explained something about a "highscrore on candy crush" that she did not understand.

Natsuko-chan went home, and waited for the object to start vibrating again

in the meantime she experimented with it. She discovered a way to capture the spirits of the environment with it, and make it mimic her voice

The object didn't vibrate that day

In fact, it didn't vibrate at all for a whole week

meanwhile Natsuko-chan was eager to show her friends and family her new toy

She would "take pictures" as she had read it was called and "record videos"

a lot of vegetation was captures on photos. But it seemed not to be able to pick up the spirits of other people than herself

"Maybe this is my power. It seems that only my spirit can show up on pictures."

But she soon realized that it wasn't a very useful power.

Eventually the object died.

Natsuko went to the woods once again to find the person and fix the object

but he was never found again

Natsuko-chan kept the object in hope of it coming back to life one day

just like her friends and family.

chiharu was walking in the woods one day
when she stumbled upon a lone girl
another loli, her age

they became friends, and chiharu would come to the spot in the woods every day
they would talk and talk.
One day Chiharu-chan spotted that the girl had a phone
she asked for her number, but it seemed like there were no batteries left

"Maybe next time" she said
but the next day the phone still had no batteries
"Is it broken?"
"It has been like this for a year now." the girl said.

Chiharu-chan said "Oh... maybe it is time to get a new one. Tell me when you do, okay?"

But the girl never got a new one. she always came back with the same phone, never charged, never scratched, and she never let Chiharu-chan see it.

Eventually Chiharu-chan had to move to another city.

One final day they played together, then bid each other farewell

Chiharu-chan is now in highschool
and she still remembers the girl
"Maybe I'll go back and find her one day" she thought to herself.
