Okay, so obviously, I didn't aim too correctly. It's the bottom of the foresight and the lining below the hindsight, then you can kill them like that! I admit, the gun is more like a novelty item for most situations. It's only when you can't resort to the spray, it's when you use this gun. For most fly invasions, you are just better off spraying the doorway where situated, end of story. Otherwise, for those flies already inside or outside (should I just leave them alone? well, the spray won't last long enough), shoot some salt then! |

After studying the pheromones of food aroma and wind currents of fans, I deduce that somebody wasn't keen enough on fly attractants! The best repellent proposal I ever not tested is this: anti-fly-sphere (sunlight required though) I probably wouldn't need a salt gun if this freakin thing works. http://josedelao.com/Jose_de_la_O/anti-fly.html Otherwise, those 5 pennies do have a use in water filled plastic bags, a cheaper variant... probably does not work with at least plastic bags. Seriously, I think there will be anti-fly foods in the future, which will reduce the home invasion problem greatly. |

Looks like there is a flesh fly demonstration! In most videos, you don't get to see distance comparison. You just see flies getting blasted with salt. However, the video below shows in the 0:59 time frame that them guns were a bit close to the target, thus explaining the knockback from the blast. You can see the salt burst fire initialized or something like that. The particles/pellets do disperse as it travel distances. I technically don't go too close due to possible aerial infections. NO, IT IS NOT A SALT SHAKER, IT'S MEANT AS JOKE. TO BE USED ON CONTAMINATED FOODS, I GUESS. NEVER FOR CULINARY DESIGNS OR YOU MAY DIE! I WON'T DO IT! Flesh fly neutralization in progress (time frame 0:59 demonstrates close up distance for knockback test)
For novelty video (time frame 0:34 demonstrates a test with horizontal angle aiming and a ruler distance of around 24 inches):

Well, a CD mirrored light may disorient some flies sometimes, but I think they can handle a bit of sunray. The object needs to be 360 radius to work, hence that glass thing/cup. I'm just gonna say this, it's not 100% to repel flies from an area, and light is still required. Yeah, the salt would be more convenient for the night fire. Even since the 90s, or even 70s/80s, there is no recorded cctv video watching these looney housewives tales to be confirmed! |

Some (PIC?) brand of Mosquito Repellent Coils are pretty good against mosquitoes, but they do leave a fucking ashy mess! You can cough up some fucking poison too. Yes, it works, up to 4 - 7 hours. The I would make a mosquito repellent method proposal topic, but maybe later as to go into more detail. About these things. --- NOTICE THAT I DIDN'T PUT FLY REPELLENT AS THE TOPIC TITLE! FLIES ARE QUITE ADAPTABLE TO ENVIRONMENT AND AUTOMATION? That is the basis of this post. |

Connect 99 fly gun triggers to a linux computor and cameras and set it to automatically shoot when a fly is spotted in kill range, tadah! fly gun turrets! Alternatively, get a bunch of venus fly traps. And a witch. |

It's true that health safety is a possibility so do take precaution. --- I found out that, as Yom said, the soapy water (I mixed in laundry detergent for a try) spray bottle would be effective to kill off mosquitoes. Having one is quite handy. Just keep in mind that it's like a revolver, no repeat fire so else the air pressure cannot deliver the spray effectively. Maybe you can spray yourself too? If it works well enough as a repellent. Sounds fair. Be sure to have the supplies available. The mosquito repellent products are good for various situations where water, or even soap solutions, are out of the question. |

You serious? Well, I hardly have much personal experience to become familiar with cunning folks. I think I'll make some notes about using this doo-hicky gadget. I have to pay mind in held load strength (in which guns would grate down! [I wonder if those damn readied custom doom weapon mods took note of that? lol]), overload of salts (which interferes with the loading and firing), and aiming below both fore/back sights (since the nozzle/nose is a bit lower than the average gun). |
