Okay, so I read up a bit on the Fokheads Reading Challenge 2017, and I thought maybe reading and thinking ain't gonna cut it for all of us.

We can make a simple (enough [Forkheads {section referral}]) gamebook. Yes, it's a bit crap compared to page to page layout, but it's a start. At least, the story is in focus. Optionally, you can use simple img tag/element in html so that's a plus to experiment with until you start mastering audio, tables, divs, etc. Eventually, not only you got the gamebook thing down, but a little html will give sway to the matter of section/page interface/aesthetics. Then, webpage by webpage or page referral gamebooks will be happening. Yes, the title page would been covered as well.

Now hold up, all these fucking ideas are in a mess. Well, that's where the GameBook Authoring Tool comes in. Free of charge and armed with a flowchart section, you can organize section by section in where they need to go. No, you don't need any variable knowledge (although it can help clean some clutter), just make a section and the unique branches to flow thru. Just remember not to shuffle the sections. Oh, if anyone wants to make 100+ sections and remove the footer page, a little html knowledge will get you through. No, the export of the gamebook file cannot be rendered into page by page (probably too complicated anyways). XHTML 1.0 Strict, yes.

Need an example, I guess so. You are dead!
Excuse the host, it is a bit browser bias.

I see the example and still don't know what a gamebook is.

It's basically a book (or just some reading material) that redirects your next page by a number of choices at the bottom. You, the reader, sort of decide the story in how it turns out. It's most like rpg/d&d/text_adventures in book format.

When I get a hold on my physical paperback copies, I might be able to scan them for preview.
Here's an example (do access the image files for a larger preview). Download sample requires www scribd.com/doc/80992465/Endless-Quest-Book-1-Dungeon-of-Dread sign in. I wouldn't bother too much about it. It's a messy print anyways.

Also, in the meantime, check out one of the gamebook illustrator's works, Larry Elmore.

AH... So a choose your own adventure story. I absolutely love those. I believe I ended up playing one of those endless quest books actually, about a mage in a castle.

CYOA's are certainly doable, thats basically what we already do but add characters, backgrounds, special effects and pr0n.

Maybe a theme with a fanning girl? Of various outfits, quirks, and demeanor possibilities? I dunno the place though. Dunno about hand fan, palm fronds, or something else. Punkah? Maybe punkahs replacing our heroine? I dunno.
