Just loo Although it makes sense to include it to deepen the insanity and make it feel like something you have is gone insane it also gives you something to hold onto, so you won't fall into the madness. I also find the religion would be offputting to groups but places us in a more real world situation by including human driven concepts rather than basic desires such as sex, happiness, violence, and enjoyment of cuteness the rest of the picture has.
