Post Speakonia Legends Development Thread
So some of you probs know by now that Timmy and I (and some other guys) have been making a game for a while now. This game is called Speakonia Legends (Codename: Dark Cloud Over Swellness or DCOS). It's a game where four Speakonia users (RCDeschene, TimmyT333, Bakasurvivor2102, and I) go on an adventure to fight the Vocaloid menace for some reason or another, mostly due to connections with the character's personal story.

The game is going to be running on the RPG Maker VX Ace engine, but I'm considering transferring it over to RPG Maker MV when that releases (probably not, since we've been fucking around with this game for too many years now, and such a transfer is going to only extend the amount of time spent making the damn game).

    -Event Programming: Mike5449 (AKA Me)
    -Database Programming: Mike5449
    -Main Story: BakaSurvivor2102 and TimmyT333
    -Personal Stories: Each person involved does their own.
    -Art: Sketch Reed (Concept and Official Art), Mike5449 (Some Sprites)
    -Music: FireGoron, TimmyT333, BakaSurvivor2102, and Others.
    -Mapping: Mike5449
    -Original Concept: DrewPicklesOgre

Special Forkheads Related Stuff
    -If you go through the true routes of all personal stories, you can go on a final quest for an ultimate legendary weapon with the highest stats of all legendary weapons, and all effects.
    -Some major/minor cameos on request. (Yes, you can ask to be in it.)
    -Slutty McSlut makes cameos and is mentioned in a certain skill.

So this is an update post rather than an AA2 card upload as I promised since I can't talk with Madassgamer. No big deal, but still, a slight annoyance. :l

This time around though, I'll be introducing some concepts that will be incorporated into Speakonia Legends.

ELEMENTAL SYSTEM
First thing to be mentioned is the elemental system of the game. It's six elements, with no real "weakness" or "resistance" but them being an enhancing factor to battles and ensuring quicker and easier success. The six elements are Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Light, and Darkness.
The first four (abbreviated as FWAE) are considered primary elements, and have slightly lower damage potential, but an enemy's weakness rating is higher with lower resistance. The last two (Light and Darkness), are higher in damage potential, but have lower weakness ratings and higher resistance ratings.

COMBAT SYSTEM
Combat is on an active time system, higher agility means you can act faster, but you have to be more than just quick with your character, you have to be quick in your hands as boss type monsters will be fast to act. Anticipation of enemy attacks is critical for when you only have one party member, as you could easily be taken out in a few hits otherwise.
Of course, you will have your attacking, as all RPGs do, but the fun part is when you do your class upgrades and notice the changes in your skills. Where, say, my own beginner class may have "Text Wall" (a defensive buff where I place a wall of text to soften damage for a few turns), a later class will have a better version called "Spam Wall" which is more effective. The same will go for elemental skills (basically magic) where you'd start out with a low level fire skill, but upon a class change, have a better version.

CLASS UPGRADING
This is a similar system to Seiken Densetsu 3. However, the class change is a part of the main story. Your four characters start as a beginner class, then upgrade to a "light" or "dark" class later on, based on choices made. Every character has a FWAE resistance of their own (Baka = Earth, Myself = Air, RCDeschene = Fire, Timmy = Water) but depending on the class picked, you get an additional light or dark resistance. Your choice of classes changes the ending as well, and there are "true" routes.

That said, TIME TO TALK ABOUT THE CHARACTERS. :P

BakaSurvivor2102
Starting Class: Furry
Starting Role: Tank
Starting Gear: Wooden Sword and Fursuit
    Max Life: A
    Max Adrenaline: D
    Attack: B
    Defense: A
    Magic Attack: F
    Magic Defense: B
    Agility: C
    Luck: C
Light Class: Yiffmaster (Tank)
Dark Class: Otherkin (Off Tank)
Info: Baka is the tank of the group and has the highest life. He is the only one capable of wearing heavy armor at the start, but as characters change class, he is one of two capable of wearing heavy armor. Though his magic attack and adrenaline suck, this is no issue as he doesn't have many skills to start, and he's mainly a physical class. As Yiffmaster, he is more protective and has minor support abilities (similar to FF Paladin). Otherkin, however, is more of a bruiser, has better agility, (even with heavy armor), and has a bit of magic (think FF Dark Knight).

Starting Class: Spamboi
Starting Role: Support
Starting Gear: Wooden Rod and Hoodie
    Max Life: C
    Max Adrenaline: A
    Attack: F
    Defense: C
    Magic Attack: B
    Magic Defense: A
    Agility: B
    Luck: D
Light Class: El Spamtare (Support)
Dark Class: Spamorian Hero (Jack of All Trades)
Info: I myself take on a supportive role in the game as opposed to what I'd usually have myself doing (basically what Baka does). He's a basic healer, with some light magic and buffing stuff, but my advanced classes are where my perks are. As El Spamtare, I get better supportive abilities, but the real perks are in Spamorian Hero where I gain the potential to take on just about any role. VERSATILITY.~ Spamorian Hero has the powers of both Light and Dark in particular, and is the only other class who can use heavy armor.

RCDeschene
Starting Class: Sex Offender
Starting Role: Magic DPS
Starting Gear: Stick and Hoodie
    Max Life: D
    Max Adrenaline: A
    Attack: C
    Defense: F
    Magic Attack: A
    Magic Defense: B
    Agility: C
    Luck: B
Light Class: Pedophile (Full DPS)
Dark Class: Craigslister (Full Magic)
Info: RC is a squishy version of Spamboi, but is a Black Mage as opposed to a White Mage. Very squishy, but very strong in damage potential. This potentially increases in Pedophile where he gains both physical and magical prowess (FWAE doesn't complete), but Craigslister gains the potential to have almost all magic at his command (Healing and FWAE).

Starting Class: Psychopath
Starting Role: Physical DPS
Starting Gear: SIG Sauer P226 and Heavy Sweater
    Max Life: C
    Max Adrenaline: C
    Attack: A
    Defense: B
    Magic Attack: F
    Magic Defense: D
    Agility: A
    Luck: B
Light Class: Hitman (Physical DPS)
Dark Class: Politician (Saboteur)
Info: This guy will do all your damaging deeds besides your elemental stuff. He mainly focuses on statuses rather than elemental damage. Later on, as a Hitman, he has the fastest rate of attack. As a Politician, his statuses are even more potent and more devastating over time.

Hopefully I'll be sharing some images later of our heroes, as well as some major characters.

Spending this hour of the morning to do some updating...

I've pre-ordered RPG Maker MV, and will be using it to make the game. All resources will be converted, but there will be a lot to update when it comes out on the 23rd of October. I'll be making new sprites (Timmy's in particular will be a bit harder, but it's no truly big deal) and the system will likely switch back to being turn-based. Which, in the long run, may actually be better, since later bosses have been shown to decimate the party in mere seconds if you're not quick enough to act, and can be extremely dangerous without an inventory FILLED with items.

For instance, doing test battles with my own class-change boss ended up requiring use of roughly 20~ moderate healing items and no time to consider which skills to use, if any. Even when raising and lowering agility values and active time requirements. As this particular class, I had my stats switched out and a much higher agility value as well. Thus, you can probably understand why we'll likely switch back. On the upside, we'll be using a side view system, so this means we can FINALLY see our characters in combat.

There's not too much else I really have to say. Expect higher resolution that with VX Ace, and better face graphics for sure. The VXA character generator had a very... Well, limited face and character generator in the long run without the use of additional files. The face generator itself produced some very weird faces that were greatly different from the standard resources. It wasn't "bad" but was very much different and could have definitely been better.

In terms of getting a demo out, I'll be producing a short one that lets you explore the first two continents when RPG Maker MV gets released. No story elements will be included, however.

Today for updates, I'd like to mention some things...

So, I didn't clarify before, but all the stuff so far is only "beta content" and none of it is guaranteed to make it to the final cut. If it doesn't, don't be disappointed. Simply document it if you want or if anything disappears, and share it freely. Here on Forkheads, you've been given a special kind of audience for whatever reason (probably that I trust you all), and can see more beta stuff than even the Facebook or Google+ followers.

Second thing is, I am putting down some guaranteed info...
    1. BakaSurvivor2102 starts as a Furry and can become a Yiffmaster. It is unknown if he will become an Otherkin, or if some other name is in mind.
    2. TimmyT333 starts as a Psychopath, and can become a Hitman or Politician.
    3. RCDeschene starts as a Sex Offender, and becomes either a Pedophile or Craigslister.
    4. I (Mike5449) start as a Spamboi and can become El Spamtare. The other class I am uncertain of entirely, as is the weapon choice for that class. With the new system this will be the fourth and probably final change.
    5. Most of our music is that which has become a Singonia parody.
    6. We have decided who the final boss will be, and it won't simply be Hatsune Miku. Speakonia stuff will help you determine who.

So, now I pose a question for people, since I'm mostly undecided... What do you think Mike5449 should use as his "dark class"? If no one else answers I'll just pick on my own.
    A. Claws: This was the original plan, but I swapped it out for a more versatile set that makes the character too OP and with a slightly dumber story. This is a set with higher attack, as it will be dual wield.
    B. Axes: The REAL original plan from the planning stages. This encompasses one-handed axes. If this is taken, the class will likely become more of a tank.
    C. Cestus: This is another idea that came up to attribute it to a monk-like class. More DPS, but still fairly balanced in magic. However, less defense since it will also be a dual wield.
    D. Scythe: I'm leaning to this one the most since his Spamboi class uses staffs, as does his El Spamtare class. This will be the best balanced but it's a matter of working out the story and the class itself.
