And then there's this supposedly secure QR code and apps. I read news that apps could be malware in the the apps server! That's like the company server right there!

With a hack, the same code/app could be redirected for cyberattacks. Of course, a slight change in the code/app could actually pass as the real thing! Who's gonna take the fucking time and effort to look into the slight change of code/app? A security analyst probably would!

Okay, it's time for a Cold War rhetoric thing again, especially with computers. I know many people will not like the stringent sanctions and restrictions like it was the Margaret Thatcher times.

I see Nginx server softwares running about. Nginx is said to be a most competitive server software than the rest, but here's the catch. Its development was from a Russian employee working for a Russian company. The developer was eventually detained for copyright infringement against the company. Note that Nginx had been worked on with the original developer until the detainment. Who knows what could happen since then. Note that this detainment occurred not too long ago and Russian-Ukraine/Ukraine-Russian war has been going on! If you want to be safe from war politics, maybe a change of server software will do. I have not directly contact any association of belligerents just yet. Who knows what could happen. My main concern is that access to services might be disrupted due to control of the server software.

Also, there's a proprietary license with Nginx Plus services. That could not be a good sign. I think it's safe to talk about that.

I haven't gotten to the midi support for Linux just yet. For this post, I am striving for compatibility, not quality, sorry about the disclaimer.

Okay, enough fucking around. For the Linuxers, just go with the operating system's tested and recommended soundfont bank files. Of course, if your audio player can support the respective soundfont bank file, then that's good too. That's the sure (and Linux [well, actually, soundfont bank files in general, might be proprietary by design in the first place; such complications!]) way! I know the selection is very little and may suck, but at least it works. Hey, that's Linux for you!

Alright alright, so those custom soundfont bank files ain't gonna cut it due to the midi composer got special composition skills for a special midi file. I won't stop you from using the Microsoft default. Its file size should not break the widely supported audio players.

Okay guys, time for some depressing belated news. Get ready for it!

Ian Murdock, the founder of Debian OS, has died on December 28, 2015.

It all started with an incident with a supposedly drunk programmer attempting a break-in of a neighbor's residence. The cops had to subdue him in his altered state. According to the neighbors, Murdock recently broken up with his girlfriend and his house was being evicted at the end of the month as well. Pretty suspicious circumstances. I wonder if the neighbor or ex-girl friend sabotaged or tampered with Murdock's life before things go downhill. I mean, this dude is Debian's founder among other technological achievements! It's like he might have got robbed/trespassed due to the high possibility of exposure.

According to police records, Murdock died from suicide as being strangled by a vacuum cleaner electrical cord. The autopsy records say he also got bruises from chest, abdomen, back, arms and legs.

I can't say if the neighbor or ex-girl friend has anything to do with it, but considering Murdock's background in the programming field, I'm sure there are other corporate competitors looking for the same share of success as him. If there is not even an act of murder, then at least an act of sabotage. It's a real tough world, that's all I got to say.

There's the system firmware, and then there's the microprocessor firmware. There are security patches from time to time. I tried to get the fix done, but it fucking fails. I attempted to revert the failed solution, only to break the repository validation. Thankfully, I was able to get the repository validation working again. I will have to take notes from my observations and experiments.
