The illusion of anonymity on the Internet
One cool thing about talking to people on the internet is you ussually get fairly honest feedback to what you're talking about. (unless the person on the other end treats internet communications as if face to face) This sort of honest straight forward feedback is one you usually dont get in real life.
Though it can't always be trusted, because these are anonymous people you never met in person and may miss-construe things since they dont know much about your background and certain things such as tone of voice and body language are ussually absent. This is why communication tends to break down sometimes when people meet on the internet and then in person, since on the internet you can seem like a totally different person.
And well, yes, there is some anonymity on the internet. Though some people do take it for granted how identifiable they are.
