So, Next I NEED a character model before I can do any more coding. luckily I have part of a Christopher Belmont model I made a while back (remember blocky? and remember how buff he got?) yeah well now he's finally getting hands and feet and a head.

The projected poly count for the high resolution model is 2500 to 3000 polygons, which is small compared to usual poly counts in modern games (think 10,000 to 30,000).

soon he'll be finished then the rigging takes place.

He has hands, I finished the muscles on the legs and fixed the ones on his arms. he's at 1934 polygons, I may take him to 2174 just to put in some joints on the fingers, he still needs feet and a head. the feet wont cost much, maybe 310 polygons extra? just guessing. lastly a head, it may cost quite a bit, over 500, I may exceed the 3000 polygon projected goal, but no more than 4000. I'm making the body cheap because he'll still need clothes and the player (= you all) will be able to give him an assortment of clothing details, with I expect might total another 4k to 6k polygons max.

the final goal is to shoot for the minimum poly count in modern games with clothes and such, around 10k polygons. again this is the high resolution model, the medium resolution model will most likely be 4k to 6k with clothes and the low resolution model will be around 2k to 3k with clothes, I may also do an extremely low res model at like 1k to 1.5k. then again that's only 4 selections for resolution quality, I know some players will have weak-ol' computers let e make a final outline below;

Character Resolution (poly count) goals:
Max Res: 10k+
High Res: 4k - 6k
Mid Res: 2k -3k
Low Res: 1k - 1.5k (blocky stage 2 -ish)
Least Res: 500 - 750 (blocky-ish)

feet done, no knuckles on hands yet, 2226 polygons.

head made except eye balls, 2570 polygons

Face fixed so it's not so primitive. I am aware it still needs some adjustments. I'm hessitant to post a picture. at least till I fix the proportions and rig it, and put a speedo or something on it.

after it's fully rigged and animated I will make a Sleek Version, then I will make female fit and sleek versions. in all versions the player can change the proportions in the character designer, to make everything from a real fat ass to a skinny geek form like us lol.

Made teeth and tongue, added knuckles, rigged most of face except mouth, will make spawn points in mouth for teeth and tongue. will separate top teeth from bottom.

planned, dont's worry about it, right now I'm preparing for teh meat bots, most people will want to style a character from a human form, that isn't to say that other forms such as robots squiggly tentacles and metamorphic energy pulses wont be available, because they will.

Also anime characters will be possible eventuallys. if you are looking for something specific; pictchars? let me know the extent to which diversity is necessary.

Also, 2986 polygons at the moment.

They will when made, right now I'm working on the male muscle model, once that's finished I need to make the male sleek model (really simple, just smooth out the muscle definitions I made for this model rigging and everything else should be the same.) After that I need to make the female models, then things like that could be possible.
