you continue evacuating and eventually find yourself on the other side of the hill the whole town is there sam points out a man near the skeleton you killed earlier "i dont know who that is must be some sort of traveler"

"ah it looks like the meeting is about to start you better join in"

the villagers are gathered around a man with sally and the bard next to him sam runs over and joins the group at the front and the man starts to speak

The man gets up and starts to speak.

"Ok people im sure you are all wondering why we evacuated the town we dont know exactly what is going on but there is a huge plague of rats tens of thousands of angry rats were found in the basement of the tavern and are sure to break out any second."

"Now we had to leave in a hurry so we need food. Thats ok we can hunt for that we will take shelter in a nearby cave although there may be goblins in there that will need to be cleared out first but we can sleep outside for a night if we need to our first priority is food anybody that can help gather food get into a group over there when the meeting finishes"

the man points to a patch of ground

"And dont forget jamie is due to give birth any day now so make sure somebody is always with her."

"Are there any questions."

If you go gathering food you will get a result of 22 on your roll so you can feed yourself and 6 other people. A check to gather food is usually a days work moving half speed for a days worth of food but this is an afternoons work for 1 meal (of course you also have 2 trail rations).

You got a 22 on your check to predict the weather so you can predict the next 2 days in tomorrow and the day after will be nice and moderate tonight however.

Looking to the skys you discover that tonight there will be a massive rain the townsfolk will not be able to stay out tonight it will be so bad you doubt many of the towns buildings would be able to remain undamaged the people have no hope it is vital shelter is found after you hunt you will have to clear out that goblin cave.

"I hope you people have some weapons on you..." Yomuchan smirks bleakly.

the speaker smiles at you

"oh weapons we have weapons alright"

he walks over to a patch of rock and pulls something out of his pockets and does something with the ground.

Suddenly he lifts up the rock which turns out to be a large sheet of metal to reveal hundreds of spears laying in a small ditch.

He slams the hatch down again with a mighty bang

"why do we need them though its just a few goblins" we only need a few of those who can actually fight to clear the cave out

"Beware the RNG. For she is easily amused and may change the course of the roll to please herself the most." Yomuchan replies cryptically, too low for anyone to hear.

After this, we're gonna have to contact other hamlets and villages in the area to warn them of the threat.

"Haven't none of you ever heard of keeping domesticated cats?!"

some villagers chuckle at your joke others just stare

sally looks at you "you idiot we would need thousands of cats to deal with this"

im not sure if you intended to say that thing about contacting others but if so

the speaker tells you "there are no other towns for a miles however somebody in the city will need to be alerted tomorrow morning we will need to send some people there but for now we need to clear out the goblin cave everybody follow me"

with that he turns and starts to walk away the townsfolk following behind him

"The last time I decided to lead, I accidentally a village." Yomuchan smiles to himself. "So I'll just tag along for now"

Saying so, he follows the crowd some distance back.

"This is like the inverse of a goblin raid. "

you follow the crowd some distance to a nearby hill (one of many its a very hilly area) with a cave entrance in the side.

to the front of the crowd steps sam, the bard. and a man dressed in chain armor who looks like a town guard

sally runs up to you and says "well are you going to join the fight or not follow me" she turns to leave shall you follow her to help destroy the goblins

"I just dont feel comfortable with combat situations involving children, is all." Yomuchan mumbles.

As he follows Sally, he suddenly remembers the small box in his arms.

He opens it quickly...

As you open it up inside you find a stick.

you would know what this anywhere it is a wand more specifically a wand of cure light wounds.

one of the temple clerics seeing you open the box says "keep that wand you may need it in the battle ahead"

you head into the cave which has an opening which can fit people through 2 wide

sam and the guard are up front sally on the left and the guard on the right while you stand behind the guard and the bard behind sam.

you walk along for a while into a large open area 30 feet by 30 feet where you find 4 goblins each wielding morningstars wearing a set of leather armor and holding a light shield

the layout of the grid is as follows

you are at the south wall the north west corner is a1 with the letter going up as you go along the east wall and the numbers going up along the north wall as shown

you have come out at an opening in the middle of the south wall with 2 squares (a square is 5 feet) to either side of the 2 square wide opening the goblins noticed you coming and are now in front of you 10 feet from the fighters at the front but in a line of 4 with 2 in line with the party and 2 to the side of them

the initiative order this round is guard, sam, bard, you, goblins

the guard dashes forward and hits one of the goblins his shortsword cutting into its arm for 2 points of damage

(bear in mind that although characters act in order its an abstraction in reality they are all acting at once)

next sam charges forward and strikes at the goblin next to the one the guard is fighting but the goblins moves aside and sams attack swishes past

the bard seeing that his allies need help starts to sing a song to inspire courage in his allies while moving forward to be in the chamber to the side of the door but not within hitting range of the goblins

its your turn now yom you can attack any of the goblins

"Two against four, this ain't gonna be good."

Knowing from experience that goblins are by nature, very tenacious in a fight and that he had to end things fast if he wanted to avoid casualties. He kept his eyes open for any goblin that appeared to be 'leading'. Finding none, he ran towards Sam to attack the goblin on C4 after readying the rod of healing in his right hand.

you run up to the goblin and attack it (attack roll 17+1) with your dagger dealing 2+1 damage to the goblin slashing a huge gash along his stomach
