Sabbath not only perfected the crushing rhythms, juggernaut riffs, and wailing, haunted vocals of metal, but the band codified the image and attitude, a dark, cynical, often sinister worldview that provided bitter relief from the false optimism of so much pop music... and my favorite song is "Black Sabbath" line would be "What is this that stands before me?" and when he's by himself. "Hell Raiser"
