Well, the thing is that astrology is illogical, and guys (for the most part), dislike irrational things? That is my opinion at least.

Not entirely true. The first astrologists were men. But then, men also wore dresses until they were about 13 until about a hundred or so years ago in most western countries. The problem is, unlike Astronomy, Astrology hasn't moved with the times and new findings. Astrology is based on outdated and incomplete information. So even people who do believe in psudosciences and the supernatural often don't believe in Astrology because it doesn't make a lot of sense in a lot of different forms. Some are better than others, but I know I did a report for college, a thesis on the reasons why Evolution should be taught in science class and why creationism shouldn't be taught in science class, where I had to research common western astrology ideas and, oh man, they have approx. about 12 signs, isn't it? When there are something over 110+ signs? And they all move, shift back and forth. Meaning, you can't just put them into simple, uniform time periods and instead have to explain the changes. You have to understand, space is a damn big place. As the Animaniacs said it, "It's a great big universe, and we're all really puny. We're just tiny little specks about the size of Mickey Rooney. It's big and black and inky. And we are small and dinky. It's a big universe and we're not."

Now what this means is, to try to live your life by the stars, you have to put a LOT more work into it than just reading a few new age books or looking at your horoscope in the paper every day. A lot of people don't want to put the work needed into it. That's not a gender thing, that's just true. So, anyone who puts the time in to think about astrology, usually doesn't have the time to follow it properly.

Astrology is quite logical: it's math. Mine is tragically accurate. I will say that the mass generalizations while generally accurate aren't the whole picture and you need a legitimate reading and progression in order to ascertain the true nature of things. In the words of John Pierpont Morgan: "Anyone can be a millionaire, but to become a billionaire you need an astrologer."

So you believe your fate is tied to the position of the stars, moons and planets of the universe?

I don't believe in fate (defined as the sequence of events that is immutable) as I understand it to be a mathematical model that is more accurately described as the paths through time-space that we currently have before us; our choices to follow a path or not are still our own, astrology is simply an understanding of the nature of these paths and our decision making processes.

Just because a road sign says there's a cliff ahead doesn't mean you have to keep going.

My basis for this is an apocryphal mix of science and "witchcraft" (for want of a more universally understood term) that I have substantiated with repeatable experiments and personal experiences under the scrutiny of objective and impartial review.

I guess the answer is something not unlike "yes."

However, if one thinks of it, how is the interrater reliability of astrology? Intrarater reliability can be biased you know

To be honest, I am not really against astrology (I enjoy reading horoscopes from time to time), however I could not really classify it as something scientific. I would place it together with other forms of fortune telling such as palmistry, tarot card reading, runes, etc.

Tarot card reading accurately predicted when my mother would die, so theres that.

I must say, even though I can't believe it for shit, astrology is kind of "romantic" so, it might be good to learn it, and use it to your advantage when you want to get laid with your girlfriend or something.

I swear, I will respond someday. I just don't care enough.
